Friedens Community Ministries is pleased and honored to announce that we have been selected as a recipient of proceeds from Empty Bowls 2012. The event will be held at the MATC South campus (6665 S. Howell Avenue) in Oak Creek on October 13th. Running from 10:30AM until 2PM, the event has become a tradition in the Milwaukee area. For a fee of $20 for adults and $10 for kids, attendees get to sample soups from some of Milwaukee's best chefs. The guests also get to keep the soup bowls, which have all been made by Milwaukee area artisans.
This annual event is designed to assist food pantries and emergency food programs in the greater Milwaukee area. Beneficiaries of this years event will be Friedens Community Ministries, Agape Community Center, The Cathedral Center, Fondy Food Center, Interchange, Jewish Community Food Pantry, Milwaukee Christian Center and St. Catherines Food Pantry. All of these groups will have representatives on hand on October 13th so you can learn more about their programs.
